Our industry is not only making steel more responsible. We are steadily decarbonising life. Stainless steel can be recycled virtually forever. And now we want to challenge the industry to decarbonise it faster.
You can already choose consumer accessories, a washing machine or a car with a smaller carbon footprint because the producer has chosen emission-minimised raw materials such as Outokumpu stainless steel. In the future you can make that decision even more often.
Imagine if consuming could
be an environmental act.
Emission-minimised raw materials means better products. To us it also means commitment to the 1,5 degrees Paris Agreement. And already some tough decisions. To get there 90% of our material is now recycled, 76% of our energy is low-carbon, 95% of our scope 1 and 2 emissions can be eliminated, and we have commercialised stainless steel with a 92% lower carbon footprint compared to industry average.
Complex numbers, great results!
